Arsenal & Chelsea Battle For Player Better Than Aguero

PAVON

The 22-year-old was a surprise inclusion in Argentina’s starting XI for their dramatic World Cup clash with France on Saturday, getting the nod over Sergio Aguero and Gonzalo Higuain as the Albiceleste were beaten 4-3 and knocked out.
And now Spanish media outlet AS have reported that the Gunners tabled a €30m (£27m) bid back in the winter window and remain interested in bringing Pavon to the Emirates while reports in Argentina indicate chelsea have also join the tussle for the Argentine international.
It is expected more clubs will join the race to sign him after the World Cup, but Boca Juniors are in no rush to sell.
Right-footed and often deployed on the right wing for Boca, Pavon can also play on the left side of the attack, cutting inside onto his stronger foot. The player has made over 60 league appearances for the legendary Argentine club since making his debut in 2014 and scored 17 goals in that time.
He signed a new deal last summer and is contracted until June 2022.
New manager Unai Emery has already overseen the arrivals of Switzerland right-back Stephen Lichtsteiner and Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno at Arsenal this summer while the chelsea camp is still much quieter as manager Conte’s future dominates the club’s headlines.
