RASHFORD GIVEN MAN.UTD NO.10 SHIRT

Marcus Rashford has received the number 10 shirt for Manchester United's friendly against Bayern Munich. Rashford, who has returned from his post-World Cup break to start at the Allianz Arena, could be about to have his squad number bumped up for a second time by Jose Mourinho. Mourinho gave Rashford the number 19 in 2016 after the 20-year-old began his United career with the number 39 under Louis van Gaal. Van Gaal felt strikers should have the traditional centre forward number on their back but Rashford was not an out-and-out striker at academy level. Although United are yet to confirm their squad numbers for the new campaign, Rashford's switch to 10 all but confirms a change of number. Zlatan Ibrahimovic inherited Wayne Rooney's number 10 a year ago but only managed seven games with it before he moved to the LA Galaxy in March. Rooney wore the 10 for 10 years. David Beckham is the only previous United academy graduate to sport the number 10 since squad number...

ZAHA WANTS CHELSEA MOVE; INFORMS TEAM MATES OF DEPARTURE

Wilfried Zaha has told fellow Crystal Palace colleagues he is determined to quit the club and wants a big-money switch to Chelsea. Zaha has rejected a new contract in a bid to force a move. He has already snubbed interest from Everton as he is reluctant to move north again, after a failed stint with Manchester United. Everton turned to Watford wideman Richarlison instead, and now Zaha is up for a move across London to Stamford Bridge. He could even consider lodging an official transfer request after Palace told him they would only consider an irresistibly huge offer. The 25-year-old Ivory Coast international bagged nine goals and three assists last term, despite missing five weeks of the season injured. Palace have since offered Zaha a new deal worth £125,000-a-week — although he only signed one for £100,000-a-week 15 months ago. Zaha is settled in London after leaving Palace in 2013 for an ill-fated spell at Old Trafford that saw him spend much of the next two season...

WHO IS TAHITH CHONG, MANCHESTER UNITED NEW BOY

Manchester United fans are growing increasingly excited about Tahith Chong, but who is he? The 18-year-old was signed from Feyenoord in 2016 and immediately caught the eye as part of Kieran McKenna's U18 side. He announced himself in his first season at the club by scoring a stunning strike at Old Trafford in the FA Youth Cup - which turned out to be United's only goal in that competition in 2016/17. Unfortunately, a cruciate injury curtailed his first campaign in Manchester in January, but after spending 10 months on the sidelines the Dutch teenager's star continues to rise. Watched by Jose Mourinho on his U23s debut in January, Chong scored United's only goal against Spurs from the right wing and was the best player wearing red on both of his reserve appearances so far. Mourinho has confirmed that Chong has trained with the first team this season and EA Sports have included him in the senior squad in FIFA 18. United continue to lack a specialist right winger and t...

Ronaldo Lands In Turin

Cristiano Ronaldo is already in Turin having dinner with Juventus directors and agent Jorge Mendes ahead of tomorrow’s medical. In an effort to avoid crowds or reporters, the Real Madrid star flew in to Turin’s Caselle airport with a private jet during the World Cup Final. He was accompanied by his mother Maria Dolores, girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez and son Cristiano Junior. They then went to La Mandria, where he will be staying tonight ahead of the medical at the J-Centre on Monday morning. Ronaldo had dinner with agent Jorge Mendes, Juve director general Giuseppe Marotta, director of sport Fabio Paratici and Vice-President Pavel Nedved. La Mandria is a large park, some of which is closed off to the public and reserved only for residents. This has prompted some to report Ronaldo has chosen to live in one of these luxury homes overlooking the park. Part of it is a golf course and they had dinner at the Golf Club restaurant. Ronaldo will have his medical tomorrow morning and hold a pr...

Nigerian Starlet Kehinde Resumes With Manchester United First Team

Manchester United Nigerian Youngster Tosin Kehinde has reported for pre-season training at Manchester United despite his contract standoff with the Premier League powerhouse. The highly-rated midfielder is now free to talk to interested clubs after he ran out of contract with the Old Trafford outfit on June 30,2018 but has been spotted training with the Red Devils this week. On Wednesday, United published their incoming and outgoing transfers in the summer transfer window but omitted Kehinde from the list, which implies that they are still in talks with the 20-year-old about extending his stay. A top source told reporters : ''Kehinde is still training with Manchester United, he will hopefully decide on a Club next week. ''There's nothing to be alarmed by his name omitted from the list. He was among the players they offered a contract who haven't signed yet, talks are still ongoing.'' Nottingham Forest, Queens Park Rangers, Read...

Adnan Januzaj Strike Powers Belgium Past England

It had been viewed as the game no-one wanted to win but Adnan Januzaj's fine finish early in the second half gave Belgium a 1-0 victory over England to secure top spot in Group G as both sides made wholesale changes to their lineups. The result means Belgium, who won all three of their group games to finish on nine points, will face Japan in the last 16 while England, who finished second with six, take on Colombia. All the pre-match talk had been about whether second place might offer an easier path to the semi-finals, given that the group winners could face Brazil in the last eight. If that was a consideration then Gareth Southgate's England side can take some consolation from the defeat given that it offers a potential quarter-final against Sweden or Switzerland rather than Brazil or Mexico, who could await Belgium. There is, though, something presumptuous about such talk and Colombia, a team with plenty of talent, certainly won't appreciate being considered part of an ...
