MATEO KOVACIC JOINS CHELSEA IN COURTOIS SWAP

Chelsea have agreed a deal to take real madrid's Mateo Kovacic as part of the deal for Belgian Goalie Courtois subject to personal terms. The Blues say the deal is still subject to Courtois agreeing personal terms and completing a medical. Real plan to present the 26-year-old, who will sign a six-year deal, as their new signing at 12:00 BST on Thursday. Athletic Bilbao's Kepa Arrizabalaga is set to arrive as his replacement for £71m - a world record for a goalkeeper. And Croatia midfielder Kovacic, 24, will have a medical on Wednesday before joining on a season-long loan. He has spent the past three campaigns at Real since joining from Inter Milan, and played in Croatia's run to the World Cup final in July. Courtois has been a Chelsea player since 2011, when he signed from Genk. He was immediately loaned to Atletico Madrid, where he played until 2014, before returning as the Blues' number one. The goalkeeper  will return to the Spanish capital, with World Cup finalist kovacic moving the other way Chelsea have confirmed the sale of Thibaut Courtois to Real Madrid, with Mateo Kovacic coming to Stamford Bridge as part of the deal.  Courtois has been at the west London club since 2011, and wrested the No. 1 jersey from club favourite Petr Cech after shining during a loan spell with Atletico Madrid as a youngster.  In recent months, however, the Belgian has become increasingly unsettled, going so far as to skip training, while he has long been linked with a return to the Spanish capital where he spent three sparkling seasons And he will now line up at the Champions League holders after Madrid agreed a reported €35m (£31m/$40m) fee that will also see Kovacic spend a year on loan in London. "Chelsea and Real Madrid have tonight agreed terms for the permanent transfer of Thibaut Courtois subject to the agreement of personal terms and passing a med...

CHELSEA CLOSE IN ON COURTOIS REPLACEMENT

The blues are looking to sign former England international Robert Green on a short-term deal, according to the Daily Mail reports. The 38-year-old was a part of the Huddersfield side last season that avoided relegation but is out of contract and is a free agent. The report claims that Green would provide competition as a third-choice keeper and would also boost the home-grown quota of the Blues. Green has played for numerous clubs in England including Leeds United, QPR, Norwich City and West Ham United. The 38-year-old would provide competition to Thibaut Courtois and Willy Caballero, however, Courtois has been linked with a move to Real Madrid. Chelsea are interested in a number of keepers to replace Courtois, with Jack Butland being one Englishman being linked with a move to the Bridge. However, signing Green doesn’t really make the side any better for the coming season. Sure, he has a lot of experience and will be a steady head in the team but it would be a much bett...

Chelsea news: Brother Urges Hazard To Reject Madrid For Chelsea Stay

The Belgium international has made it clear that he wants to leave Chelsea this summer and has indicated that a move to Madrid would be his preferred destination. Earlier this week, reports in France claimed that Chelsea and Madrid have reached an initial agreement to sell Hazard for €190 million (£170m). But the midfielder’s younger brother Kylian, who was signed by Chelsea last August but has not made a first-team appearance, has suggested that a move to Madrid is not the best option. Replying to a post on Instagram which asked ‘do you think this [Madrid] would be the right move for Hazard?’, Kylian replied with an emoji of a person making a cross with their arms. Hazard has just under two years left on his current contract with Chelsea and the club will hold out for a high transfer fee for the Belgian. Maurizio Sarri, meanwhile, has refused to rule out the prospect of keeping Hazard but claimed earlier this week that he wants to hold face-to-face talks with the midfielder. ‘A tele...

Madrid Agree £170m Hazard Fee With Chelsea - Reports

Reports this evening suggest that Chelsea and Real Madrid may have come to an agreement over a fee for the transfer of Eden Hazard. Hazard has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge all summer, following a season in which Chelsea finished fifth in the Premier League, failing to qualify for the Champions League. That cost Antonio Conte his job, with Maurizio Sarri brought in to replace him at the weekend. Hazard shone at the World Cup in Russia, helping Belgium to the semi-finals and when asked about his future following the tournament, openly admitted that his time at Chelsea could be up. Real Madrid president makes transfer vow amid links to Chelsea ace Eden Hazard The Belgian star said: "After six wonderful years at Chelsea it might be time to discover something different. Ronaldo Lands In Turin

Cristiano Ronaldo is already in Turin having dinner with Juventus directors and agent Jorge Mendes ahead of tomorrow’s medical. In an effort to avoid crowds or reporters, the Real Madrid star flew in to Turin’s Caselle airport with a private jet during the World Cup Final. He was accompanied by his mother Maria Dolores, girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez and son Cristiano Junior. They then went to La Mandria, where he will be staying tonight ahead of the medical at the J-Centre on Monday morning. Ronaldo had dinner with agent Jorge Mendes, Juve director general Giuseppe Marotta, director of sport Fabio Paratici and Vice-President Pavel Nedved. La Mandria is a large park, some of which is closed off to the public and reserved only for residents. This has prompted some to report Ronaldo has chosen to live in one of these luxury homes overlooking the park. Part of it is a golf course and they had dinner at the Golf Club restaurant. Ronaldo will have his medical tomorrow morning and hold a pr...

Hazard Hints At Madrid Move To Replace Ronaldo

Chelsea attacker Eden Hazard has dropped his biggest hint yet that he could join Real Madrid. “You already know my favourite destination…” Hazard is a known admirer of former Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane, while his father claimed he was pursuing a move to the European champions, with his Chelsea contract set to expire in 2020. “After six wonderful years at Chelsea, it might be time to try something new,” he said after Belgium’s World Cup third-place playoff against England on Saturday, which his country won 2-0. “After this World Cup, I can decide whether I want to stay or leave, but Chelsea will make the final decision, if they let me go. “You already know my favourite destination. I’ve been linked with every club. It’ll be Bayern Munich next week… “It makes me laugh. You already know my preference.”

RONALDO APPROACHED US FOR MOVE - JUVENTUS CHIEF

The Bianconeri completed the shock signing of the 33-year-old, but the club chief says it was the forward who started flirting first Cristiano Ronaldo made the first move to start negotiations with Juventus over his shock move from Real Madrid, chief executive Giuseppe Marotta has revealed. The 33-year-old joined the Serie A side in a move worth €100m (£88m/$117m) plus €12m (£10.5/$14m) in additional charges, while he committed to a four-year contract that will see him net €30 million (£26.5m/$35m) each season. Juve tried to sign Ronaldo when he was just 18, only to see the move fall through and the attacker to become a star at Manchester United and then Madrid. This time, however, it was the Portuguese icon who got in touch with the Bianconeri, as he sought a way out of the Spanish capital following their Champions League win. While his agent, Jorge Mendes, was in talks with the Bianconeri over Joao Cancelo's move to Turin, the forward made first contact with the Italian champi...

According to Sky Sport Italia transfer journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Cristiano Ronaldo has expressed his willingness to play for Juventus. Reports have been gathering all day from across the Spanish press, then in Portugal where A bola and O Jogo reported that Ronaldo is angling for a move to Turin this summer. Di Marzio now reports that Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes, who also represents new Juve signee Joao Cancelo, invited the Bianconeri to make an offer for CR7. According to the report, Juve are giving serious thought about signing the Portuguese forward and the €120m transfer fee is not a stumbling block for the club. Ronaldo is asking for €30m net per year and Juve President Andrea Agnelli will need to decide whether or not to make the investment. Tuttosport and others have gone so far as to suggest the club may incorporate FIAT sponsorship deals into Ronaldo’s contract as a way of balancing the books. Manchester united Hijacking C. Ronaldo To Juventus Move

Manchester United have reportedly been given the chance to match Juventus's offer for Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo. Reports in the Spanish press emerged this week suggesting that the Portugal international is on his way to Juve in a £106m deal. The 33-year-old, who has scored 450 goals in 438 games for European champions Madrid, will supposedly be paid wages of £500,000 a week in the Italian capital. In a potential twist, however, The Sun reports that United could yet table an identical bid of their own, giving the five-time Ballon d'Or winner a chance to return to Old Trafford. Ronaldo is said to have grown disillusioned at the Bernabeu after nine years with the club, offering his biggest hint yet after May's Champions League success  that he will move on this summer.

RONALDO AND MESSI OUT OF WORLD CUP; END OF AN ERA?

On the back of this years world cup in Russia, Many had expected things to boil down to two of the most talked after people on world football; Leo Messi And C. Ronaldo as both players already in the latter stages of their playing careers were hugely expected to battle for who would win the piece of silver ware for himself to complete his trophy haul. But now, confirmation has almost certainly arrived that neither man will win a World Cup. Ronaldo will be 37 in four years' time and Messi — who has history of prematurely retiring from the Argentina side and is tipped to do so again in the aftermath of this tournament — will be 35. Neither has scored a goal in the knockout stages of the World Cup in their careers. Messi has played in one final, Ronaldo one semi-final, but this major honour, the medal that was supposed to rule all medals and definitively end the debate once and for all, has eluded the both of them. They will be crushed by that. But for us, the regular footbal...

German Football's Worst Day Ever Came In Russia 2018

Wednesday in the World Cup, but perhaps nothing captures the implausibility more than one simple fact: Germany, the defending champion, took its earliest exit from the tournament since 1938, when Adolf Hitler was the country’s leader and only 15 teams participated. Germany, a four-time World Cup champion perceived as a dynamic soccer machine that rarely sputters, broke down in an inglorious way, giving up two goals in extra time and losing 2-0 to South Korea. The result allowed Mexico to advance despite a 3-0 loss to group winner Sweden 500 miles away in Yekaterinburg. “It’s a dark day for German football,” Germany goalkeeper Manuel Neuer said. The Germans entered injury time tied 0-0, knowing a 1-0 victory would have been enough to advance. Instead, Kim Young-gwon and Son Heung-min scored — the latter after Neuer had vacated his goal to press forward as an extra attacker. The disappointment of being eliminated is just huge,” said coach Joachim Loew, who said the team deserved to go ...
